12.05.21 Update

After much deliberation, extensive research and risk assessments, it is with a heavy heart the committee have taken the decision not to open the playscheme this year, 2021. Due to the free flow way we work, we do not feel confident we can operate the scheme in a safe and enjoyable environment, as we have in previous years. We have not come to this decision lightly and we are aware this may cause some of you disappointment, as it has for us and our children. However we are confident this is the right decision during these uncertain times. We hope to see you back with us next year, 2022, and look forward to fun times once more. Stay safe, thank you.

FAQs

Important information

We aim to provide a drink of squash or water at morning break, along with a biscuit but you will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink. We ask that no fizzy drinks are included. For the safety of all children, we also insist that no nuts are put in the lunch boxes as we will have children with nut allergies attending. This will be strictly enforced.

We would also ask that sun cream be liberally applied to children before they come to the play scheme if the weather is warm, so as to avoid those nasty sunburns! We would advise that sun hats be worn when on the outside field.

Q: What happens if I am late dropping my child off in the morning?

A: The doors shut at 9am so please call the play scheme number 07981 711590 and a member of staff will come to the door.

Q: What do you do with my personal Data?

A: The booking forms are kept for six month and then shredded after that period.

Q: Is my child allowed to attend if they are starting school in September?

A: Only if they have a sibling attending the scheme on the same days as them.

Q: What food should I bring for my children?

A: Just a normal lunch box and water bottle. Please do not include nuts or nut products as there are some children in the scheme with nut allergies.

Q: What clothes should my child/children wear?

A: We suggest old clothes as the children partake in lots of art, crafts and sport. We also suggest trainers for footwear.

Q: Will there be a tuck shop when the cinema is showing?

A: Yes, please remember to give your child some pocket money to spend on sweets, crisps and drinks.

Q: Where do I park when dropping/collecting my children from the scheme?

A: Please park on Pound Lane. The car park is just reserved for staff.

Q: My child has allergies, can they still attend?

A: Yes, please ensure you update the medical questionnaire.

Q: How soon will I receive confirmation of my child’s place?

A: We will only inform you if we can’t honour your booking, this will be within 7 days of receipt of booking form and payment.

Q: Why couldn’t I get a space on extra days last year?

A: We encourage parents to book early as spaces are limited.

Q: Will my child stay on sight?

A: Only 10+trips are organised and are local. Parents will be informed beforehand and must sign a consent form.

Q: Will you provide sun cream?

A: No we expect parents to make sure your child comes to the scheme protected.

Q: Where can I find things that my children have lost at the Playscheme?

A: Please check the Lost Property box in the Reception area. The Playscheme is not liable for lost or stolen goods.

Q: What happens if my circumstances change and I need to cancel my booking?

A: Payment is non-refundable as staff are employed to match the number of bookings.
